Quick Question

Can anyone help me figure out what kind of metals I should be using with my sculptures? I'm hearing mixed things about galvanized metals, though the consensus seems to be that it's safe as long as I don't bake over 475F and I don't use it for food. Just curious, I've got a few sculpt projects in the works but I need to get some new materials, and I'm wondering what kind of materials I CAN use for it....I'm looking to get some metal staples (to mount the sculpts to their bases) and armature wire (from thin to thick, all depends on the sculpture). I've used the metal wire out of school notebooks before, I can't imagine that stuff NOT being galvanized so it should be okay I think?? Anyways, I mostly just need the U-Nails so I can get started on these two sculpts...

Also, does anyone happen to know what Fahrenheit temp unfinished wood will burn at? I need to know. I SHOULD be able to bake the bases with the sculptures, but I just want to be certain before I set them in the oven.
